Salt-Free Trail Mix
A customizable mix of nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and chocolate for hiking, desks, or road trips.

Sodium note
Every ingredient is naturally low in sodium since there's no salted or roasted-in-salt component.
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw unsalted almonds
- 1 cup raw unsalted cashews
- 1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup dried apricots, chopped
- 1/2 cup mini dark chocolate chips

Method
- 1
In a large bowl, combine almonds, cashews, and pumpkin seeds.
- 2
Add dried cranberries, chopped apricots, and coconut flakes, tossing to distribute.
- 3
Stir in the dark chocolate chips last so they don't melt from any residual warmth in the nuts.
- 4
Transfer to an airtight container or divide into individual snack bags for easy grabbing.

Substitutions
- Swap cashews for walnuts or pecans depending on what's in the pantry.
- Use raisins or dried cherries in place of cranberries for a different sweetness.
- Sunflower seeds can replace pumpkin seeds for a nut-free-adjacent crunch.
Tips
- If nuts are freshly roasted at home, let them cool completely before adding chocolate.
- Portion into small bags ahead of time to make grab-and-go snacking effortless.
- Store in a cool, dry pantry for up to a month, or freeze for longer storage.
