Turkey and Avocado Lettuce Wraps
Crunchy romaine stands in for bread in these fresh turkey and avocado wraps with herb sauce.

Sodium note
Choosing low-sodium roasted turkey breast (or roasting your own) instead of deli turkey is the single biggest sodium savings here.
Ingredients
- 8 large romaine lettuce leaves, washed and dried
- 12 ounces low-sodium roasted turkey breast, sliced thin
- 1 large avocado, sliced
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cucumber, cut into thin sticks
- 1/4 cup plain unsalted Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 small garlic clove, grated
- Black pepper to taste
Method
- 1
In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, lime juice, cilantro, cumin, and garlic to make the sauce.
- 2
Lay the romaine leaves out on a work surface, cupped side up.
- 3
Layer each leaf with a few slices of turkey, a slice or two of avocado, a small handful of carrots, and a few cucumber sticks.
- 4
Drizzle each wrap with the yogurt sauce and finish with a crack of black pepper.
- 5
Fold the sides of the lettuce over the filling and eat like a taco, or roll tightly and secure with a toothpick for portability.

Substitutions
- Swap turkey for shredded rotisserie chicken breast with the skin removed.
- Butter lettuce or large cabbage leaves work in place of romaine.
- Plain unsalted skyr or sour cream can replace the Greek yogurt in the sauce.
Tips
- Pat the romaine leaves very dry before filling so the wraps hold together better.
- Roast your own turkey breast on the weekend and slice it thin for the lowest-sodium option.
- Pack the sauce separately if taking these on the go, and assemble just before eating.
